The Power of Focus

Last week I was at a conference for work, confined to a hotel and conference center. Our breakfast and lunch meals were served to us buffet style each day. Prior to becoming a Sparitarian, I would not have paid much attention to what was served. I would have just gone down the line each day, selecting from the various food items, with some random thoughts of eating a healthy meal.

Choosing a consumption lifestyle, whether that is Vegan, Vegetarian, or Sparitarian, brings greater FOCUS into your life. For probably the first time at a conference like this, I found myself carefully reading the labels for each dish on the buffet. The Vegan choices were very limited, with only a few more Vegetarian options. I focused on choosing dishes in these categories, resulting in a mostly plant-based food week coupled with some dairy and one dinner that included fish. Sparitarian.

Being Sparitarian has brought me to a greater focus on what I consume. I look for ingredients, origin, health and ecological impact.
